Rules & Regulation
1.     W.B. STATE YOGASANA COMPETITION (INSTRUCTIONS).

  • Number of Entries: Maximum Four Competitors of either sex in each Age Group from each District, & Two Competitors from Kolkata’s Unit / Club will be allowed to participate. – Time duration for each competitor – maximum 7 minutes.

 2.      W.B. STATE ARTISTIC YOGA SPORTS COMPETITION (INSTRUCTIONS).

  • The Artistic Yoga Sports Competition will be held in Junior (8-18 Years) age group & Senior Age Group (18-35 Years) Males & Females No. of entries 2 from each District & 1 from Kolkata club.
  • Artistic Yoga consists of presentation of various asanas (postures) including forward and backward bending, balancing, lying postures, sitting postures, etc. performed with music.
  • It is synchronization of body movement with music (without break).
  • Number of postures performed should be 8-10 of competitor’s choice.
  • Time duration for the presentation will be 120 to 150 seconds.
  • The competitor will maintain each posture for at least 3-5 seconds during the performance.
  • The transition from one posture to another posture should be slow & Artistic.

3.      W. B. STATE ARTISTIC PAIR YOGA SPORTS COMPETITION (INSTRUCTIONS).

  • The Artistic Pair Yoga Sports Competition (either both Girls and both Boys) will be held in Junior (8-18 Years) age group & Senior Age Group (18-35 Years) Males & Females No. of entries – 2 pairs from each District & 1 from Kolkata unit.
  • Artistic Pair Yoga consists of presentation of various Asanas (postures) including forward and backward bending, balancing, lying postures, sitting postures etc. including pyramid making, performed with music.
  • Both the participants will perform two different postures at a time. Performing same posture will be a disqualification.
  • Body touch is allowed in the competition as per the discretion of the competitors.
  • Making of pyramid will be given preference.
  • Synchronization of body movements with music will be given top preference.
  • Number of postures performed should be 8-10 of competitor’s choice.
  • Time duration for the presentation will be 120-150 seconds.
  • The competitor will maintain each posture for atleast 3-5 seconds during the performance.
  • The transition from one posture to another posture should be slow, Artistic and Synchronized.

4.      W. B. STATE RHYTHMIC YOGA SPORTS COMPETITION (INSTRUCTIONS).

  • The Rhythmic Yoga Sports Competition (The pair may consist of either both boys or both girls) will be held in Junior (8-18 Years) age group & Senior Age Group (18-35 Years) Males & Females No. of entries – 2 pairs from each District & 1 from Kolkata unit.
  • Rhythmic Yoga is also known as pair Yoga. Rhythmic Yoga Sports is the presentation of various asanas (postures) including forward bending, backward bending, balancing, lying postures etc. performed with music.
  • The same posture should be performed by the pair together.
  • Number of postures performed should be 8-10 of competitor’s choice.
  • There should not be any body touch between the two participants.
  • There should be perfect synchronization of body movements with the music.
  • Time duration for the presentation will be 120-150 seconds.
  • The competitor will maintain each posture for at least 3-5 seconds during the performance.
  • The transition from one posture to another should be Slow, Rhythmic and Synchronized.

5.      W. B. STATE FREE FLOW YOGA DANCE COMPETITION (INSTRUCTIONS):

  • Number of Entries: Only One team from One District / Unit / Club (Kolkata) can participate in the State Free Flow Yoga Dance Competition in Junior group i.e. 8 to 18 years (Boys, Girls or both mixed) & Senior Age Group (18-35 Years) (Male, Female or both mixed).
  • The team will consist of 5 players either all boys or all girls or boys and girls mixed.
  • It is the presentation of various asanas (postures) including forward bending, backward bending, balancing, lying postures etc. performed in dancing movements with music, preferably with some theme.
  • The team can perform same postures/different postures / pyramids/ free flow movements.
  • There should be perfect synchronization of body movements with the music.
  • Number of postures performed should be 8-10 Combination of Asana of competitor’s choice.
  • Time duration for the presentation will be 180-210 seconds (3 to 3½ Minutes).
  • The competitor will maintain each posture for at least 3-5 seconds during the performance.
  • The transition from one posture to another should be Slow, Rhythmic, Synchronized and in dancing movement.
  • The performance in the Free Flow Yoga Dance Competition should be with some theme & no prop. can be used.

6.      SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

  • The performer can start with movement or can stay in posture. In any case time should start when the music and movement start.
  • The time should stop with the bow gesture of the participants.
  • If the performer stays in a posture at the very beginning that posture should be counted.
  • Preference will be given to the melodious, devotional and classical music.
  • Competitor will strict their performance within the marked arena. Two marks will be deducted (from the marks of performance) if the competitor/s cross or touch the arena line during their performance.
  • The competitor/(s) have to stay at least for 3 to 5 Seconds in each Posture/Pyramid/Formation. Therefore if the competitor/(s) do not abide by the said rule for particular posture/Pyramid/Formation, in that case that posture/ Pyramid/Formation will deemed to be cancelled and accordingly the number of postures will be counted by the panel of judges.

 

  • Any complaint should be lodged in official letter head along with protest fee of Rs. 500/- within ½ hour of completion of the group competition.
  • No competitors will be entertained for Artistic, Artistic pair, Rhythmic, Free Flow Yoga competition other than Yogasana Competitors of any group.
  • Prizes will be distributed on the same day of competition.
